Lunar eclipses in 2013

I have started paying close attention to the eclipses over the past couple of years as the latest series across the Taurus / Scorpio axis hit and transformed my financial situation considerably. I started studying Dietrech Pessin’s Lunar Shadows more closely with amazing results and have since integrated her theory into my work, however, staying true to the sidereal calendar. While using the tropical or sidereal calendar doesn’t actually matter so much in this context, what is important is the houses the lunar and solar eclipses fall in and how they affect each sign individually.

In 2013, there are five eclipses happening - the first is the lunar eclipse on 25th April. Eclipses have the potential to create powerful events in our lives and what will be triggered around the time of the eclipse often emerges up to three months prior to the eclipse. Lunar eclipses are always more personal and affect our emotional lives more than the solar eclipses. The Moon is at its highest point of visibility exposing all the information, the whole situation leaving little room for secrets. Astrologer sometimes love telling stories of thieves being caught more easily during a full Moon.

In any case, the opposition of the Moon and Sun make this such a crucial time for relationships. It’s the yin and yang polarity that shines the spotlight on any loose ends which means that loose connections may find it natural end. On the other hand, lunar eclipses can invite the parties involved to just have a god old chat that helps to discard outworn relationship behaviour and patterns. So for example, if the lunar eclipse happens in the 7th house (for Aries Ascendants in April 2013), then you may find yourself in a situation where you are faced with relationship issues of the commitment vs. freedom type. We are more aware of what is lacking in the relationship and what our own needs are. It’s an emotionally charged and dramatic time, often accompanied by partnership make-up or break-ups.

The lunar eclipses take place on 25th April, 25th May and 19th October 2013.

For Aries and Aries rising as well as its polar opposite Libra and Libra rising, the lunar eclipses in April and October fall across the 1st and 7th house axis of the self and close relationships. The May lunar eclipse affects your income and that of our partner of any other joint resources as well as loans, tax, insurance and inheritance.

For Taurus and Taurus rising as well as for Scorpio and Scorpio rising, the lunar eclipses fall in April and October fall across the 12th and 6th house axis of intuition and hidden talents and daily routine and health and work habits. The May eclipse affects your houses of the self and the opposite, finishing up loose ends from when the nodes transited your sign and your opposite sign of Scorpio.

For Gemini and Gemini rising as well as for Sagittarius and Sagittarius rising, the lunar eclipses fall in April and October fall across the 11th and 5th house axis of hopes, wishes and dreams, community and the global marketplace and individual performance, children, fun and creativity. The May eclipse falls across the 12th and 6th house axis of intuition and hidden talents and daily routine and health and work habits.

For Cancer and Cancer rising as well as for Capricorn and Capricorn rising, the lunar eclipses fall in April and October fall across the 10th and 4th house of career, profession, vocation, reputation and life direction and your home, where you feel at home, your house, your past, inner emotions and your mother. The May eclipse falls across the 11th and 5th house axis of hopes, wishes and dreams, community and the global marketplace and individual performance, children, fun and creativity.

For Leo and Leo rising as well as for Aquarius and Aquarius rising, the lunar eclipses fall in April and October fall across the 9th and 3rd house axis of higher versus basic learning and education, the higher versus the lower mind, long-distance versus short-distance travel, the bigger picture versus detailed communication, religion and spirituality versus very-day thoughts occupied with habits and routines. The May eclipse falls across the 10th and 4th house of career, profession, vocation, reputation and life direction and your home, where you feel at home, your house, your past, inner emotions and your mother.

For Virgo and Virgo rising as well as Pisces and Pisces rising, the lunar eclipses fall in April and October fall across your 8th and 2nd house axis of your own income, values, sense of security, what you eat and in Indian astrology also how you express yourself (you speech) as well as other people’s money, joint resources, tax, insurance, inheritance and bank loans. The May eclipse falls across the 9th and 3rd house axis of higher versus basic learning and education, the higher versus the lower mind, long-distance versus short-distance travel, the bigger picture versus detailed communication, religion and spirituality versus very-day thoughts occupied with habits and routines.
